Miscellaneous Fire – West Huller Ln 06-29-2025

At approximately 00:05 hours on June 29th, 2025, the Leesport Fire Company was dispatched to a report of two piles of scrap metal smoking at Royal Green, located on West Huller Ln. Tanker 37 and Engine 37 immediately responded to the scene, as personnel were already at the station at the time of dispatch.

Upon arrival, Lieutenant 37 assessed the situation and confirmed the presence of two piles of unknown material that were smoldering. Fortunately, no structures were threatened by the incident.

Tanker 37 was positioned at the first pile, and Engine 37 was deployed at the second pile. Both apparatus crews began to take action by disrupting the smoldering material to determine a fire temperature. This was necessary to evaluate the extent of the smoldering and any potential risk of fire escalation.

While crews focused on mitigating the smoldering piles, Lieutenant 37 requested additional manpower to assist in the operation. As a result, Station 12 and Station 66 were dispatched to the scene. Their crews supported the efforts of Tanker 37 and Engine 37 in monitoring and managing the situation.

After a period of evaluation and disruption of the material, Lieutenant 37 concluded that the smoldering piles posed no immediate threat to nearby structures or the environment. As the situation was deemed under control, Station 12 and Station 66 were released from the scene and returned to service.
