Second Alarm Brush Fire – 03-13-2025

On 03/13/2025 at approximately 16:42 hours Leesport Co37 was dispatched to Bern Township in the 1100 block of Fairview Drive to a reported mountain on fire. 37 Personnel responded initially with Engine 37 along with Tanker 37 to the reported area, Upon crews arrival they were designated with establishing a water supply at the lower level of the affected area to provide incoming brush units with water to utilize at the main level where the fire was spreading. Shortly after our crews arrived Bern Township command requested a second alarm response due to manpower, Utility 37 responded with the second alarm to provide manpower. Upon Utility 37’s arrival there crew was quickly placed into service with protecting surrounding brushes and to attack hotspots in a dense brush area.
Leesport Co37 personnel were on location for roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes before being released by Bern Township Command.
