Vehicle Fire – Main St 07-09-2025

At approximately 11:50 hours on July 9th, 2025, Leesport Fire Company was dispatched to the 500 block of Main Street for a reported vehicle fire. Station 66 and Station 40 were automatically added to the assignment to assist with the incident. Chief 66 reported smoke showing from Bern Township over the air.

Engine 66 and Chief 66 arrived on location and confirmed a working vehicle fire that was not threatening any structures. Shortly after, Lieutenant 37 arrived on location, assumed command of the incident, and requested fire police to close off the roadway. Engine 66 was able to knock down the bulk of the fire and completed overhaul of the vehicle.

After the fire was extinguished, Engine 40 was recalled from the assignment as there was adequate manpower on scene. The scene was turned over to Northern Berks Regional Police and towing services, allowing both stations to be placed back in service.
